Hi everyone,
Please have a look at this great opportunity at University of Wolverhampton:
Join the team at University of Wolverhampton
As the University of Wolverhampton Library continues to expand its support to the growing University Research Community, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Scholarly Communications Librarian who can work at both a strategic and operational level.
This is an exciting time to join the team, as our support for research is being developed through the implementation of a current research information system, the establishment of a research data management service, and by playing a key role in supporting REF 2021. We are seeking candidates with initiative and the ability to innovate in response to change and new ways of working.
The post is based within the University Library team, in the wider directorate of Student and Academic Services (DSAS). The directorate brings together the University Library, College of Learning and Teaching, Student Support and Wellbeing, Careers and Employability and a Business Support function.
Within DSAS the Scholarly Communications Librarian post will be situated within the Content and Digital Library Development team which is responsible for the content management life-cycle (including acquisitions, licensing and partnerships and scholarly communications) and the development and improvement of the Library Services Platform. The post holder will lead a small sub-team dedicated to expanding and consolidating the directorate’s research support offer.
The University of Wolverhampton has made significant investment in its research activities over recent years and continues to expand its research output across all faculties. Our research was celebrated for its world leading elements across all areas in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), and the University will enter all staff with significant responsibility for research aligned with 17 Units in REF2021.
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of Open Research and the research lifecycle, and will be able to ensure the continued development and delivery of the Library’s Scholarly Communications team, a small team responsible for advocacy, processes and services relating to Open Access, Research Data Management and wider support for scholarly communications developments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role, which involves engaging with a range of academic and professional service colleagues to ensure policy compliance and embed awareness and best practice relating to Open Research across the University.
