Archivist (Maternity cover) £33,000 per annum Full-time, 40 hours per week Fixed Term Contract for up to one year
The National Portrait Gallery is currently seeking an experienced and committed Archivist on a maternity cover contract to manage the acquisition, cataloguing, care and preservation of the Gallery’s institutional records and Collected Archives. The role is expected to promote the collections internally and externally.

The successful candidate will possess a post-graduate qualification in Archives and Records Management or equivalent and have experience working as an Archivist or in a post with similar responsibilities, ideally in a museum or heritage organisation or similar environment. Experience of cataloguing complex or substantial collections to ISAD(G) using an automated system is essential and knowledge of CALM for Archives would be an advantage. Excellent communication and organisational skills are also essential.
