PhD funding opportunities in decision neuroscience at the University of Birmingham, UK
The Motivation and Social Neuroscience lab (MSN; www.msn-lab.com) is looking for enthusiastic PhD candidates interested in the neural mechanisms underlying motivation and decision-making, to start in October 2020.
We aim to address questions such as: Why does the brain find things effortful? Why do we experience fatigue? how do they impact motivation and decisions? and how do people make decisions during social interactions? MSN is funded by a £1.25m BBSRC David Phillips Fellowship, and is moving from Oxford University to the brand new, £25m Centre for Human Brain Health at the University of Birmingham in summer 2020.
Funding for projects is available through a competitive BBSRC funding schemes (link below), using a range of techniques including pharmacology, fMRI, and MEG in healthy people, as well as testing in clinical populations (Parkinson’s Disease). Projects will be conducted in collaboration with Prof. Ole Jensen and Dr. Joe Galea.
Eligible, interested candidates should get in contact with Dr. Apps ([log in to unmask]) with a copy of their CV before the deadline and applying.
