An opportunity has arisen at a school in SE London to gain some voluntary experience working with digital a/v metadata and educational resources. The work involves using thumbnails to assess the priority of each file, and then analysing the higher priority files to create their titles and content keywords.
The organisation was subject to a thwarted ransomware attack and while the av material was not lost, the metadata was.
The work would be a good introduction to working with digital material as well as for people interested in careers in indexing, metadata, information science, KIM, information security and archive work.
The school can pay travel expenses up to the daily limit of a London travelcard and it can provide a free cooked lunch. Hours are to suit the candidate with a minimum commitment of one day per week.
The work is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Please contact [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] in the first instance.
It is hoped to start the work in mid January.
With best wishes,
