Hi all,
Do we know why British Newspaper Archive have been reluctant to adopt SSO / UK federation / Open Athens? I know that the UK public Library community has been disappointed in their lack of adoption.
Thanks

Hi Joyce,
Thank you for this, I appreciate your time, but I'm feeling really frustrated by the situation. My problem still remains that as an organisation I can't provide a single stable IP address for the account, as we don't have one (Our IT services are in the Cloud). The system we have been using has been fine for the last year, up until the beginning of October. If we can't use OpenAthens, is there another method of accessing the subscription, because at the moment we're paying for content we can't fully utilise.
My users are not all based in a single location, so they need to be able to access the account from wherever they are. I'm not able to have a single kiosk available through which everyone could access the account.
Best wishes,
Nicola Cryer

Hi Nicole
JCS Online Resources is just the sales agent for British Newspaper Archive so we linked you up with their help desk. But I can confirm that the reason you're experiencing these error messages is because BNA doesn't support OpenAthens. Access to BNA is only via fixed IPs aand not off-site. So as long as you are using BNA from a computer running from one of your registered IP addresses you'll be able to perform all the searches you want to make but not otherwise.
Hope this helps
best wishes
