We’re delighted to share our exploratory study of social enterprise and craft, undertaken with partners Wrexham Glyndwr University.
Craft and Social Enterprise (https://www.craftscouncil.org.uk/content/files/190903_Craft_and_Social_Enterprise.pdf), by Sarah Evans and Chris Fortune, illustrates how social enterprises are supporting individuals, communities and consumers to enjoy – and profit from - the benefits of making. We know craft is practised in settings from homes and community centres to research institutions and international brands. This study extends our understanding of the power of craft to transform communities, showing how the featured social enterprises put social justice and purpose at the heart of what they do.
