Dear all,
I am convening a panel titled "Activist-Expertise vis-à-vis the Violence of
the Anthropocene" at the forthcoming RAI conference (4-7 June 2020,
London), where Prof Andrew Barry (UCL Geography) has kindly accepted to act
as discussant.
I would like to invite those interested in this theme to submit a paper
proposal.
The call for papers is now open and closes on 8 January 2020.
The panel asks, what are the political possibilities and limitations of
eco-activism by scientific/disciplinary experts? How might it navigate
expertise's historical role in creating the infrastructures that have
facilitated the sociopolitically and geographically uneven effects
constituting the Anthropocene?
Further details and submission portal are accessible via
https://nomadit.co.uk/conference/rai2020/p/8283
Please feel free to email me any questions you might have about the panel.
Many thanks in advance for your interest.
Best wishes,
Eray
