Salary: £30,395 to £48,677 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Medical Statistician: £30,395 to £39,609 per annum
Senior Medical Statistician: £39,609 to £48,677 per annum
This is an ideal opportunity for a talented medical statistician wishing to progress their research career. You will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Medical Statistician. You will conduct statistical analysis for the NIHR-funded NEON (Narrative Experiences Online) study, and you will also join a multidisciplinary team of RDS staff who have expertise in the development of high quality applied health or social care research applications for submission to national peer reviewed funding streams. The successful applicant will be appointed at either level 5 (equivalent grade to an assistant professor) or level 4 (equivalent grade to a research associate or fellow) depending upon skills and experience.
You should have a strong background in the design and analysis of randomised controlled trials. You will connect with other researchers within the Institute of Mental Health, with statisticians in the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit at Queen Mary University of London and other statisticians within the RDS. You will be a team player with good communication skills who enjoys working with other members of the team as well as independently.
You should have, or be near to the completion of, a PhD in medical statistics, epidemiology, health services research, or clinical trials. You should provide evidence of significant research experience of designing and conducting quantitative research studies in an applied health research setting in the UK, and an appropriate track record of peer reviewed publications.
Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week).
