The Network issues started on Friday 13th September
The initial symptoms impacted FTS transfers to the whole of the UK from BNL, Fermi Labs and FZK.
It was initially assumed to be an FTS problem but after sites transferred to CERN FTS, problems persisted at several sites (for the non-OPN parts of the Tier-1 including FTS and GOCDB )
Additionally this impacted Lancaster, Manchester, Edinburgh.
This has been reported in several GGUS ticket (included for reference)
GGUS#143225 - https://ggus.eu/?mode=ticket_info&ticket_id=143225

After extensive investigation by many people, Duncan Rand found a problem in the JANET core where traceroute6 was being dropped.
The connectivity issue was due to the router hosting the GEANT connection not fully distributing the affected prefixes to all of the JANET core
despite what the router was claiming.
Further monitoring will be needed to determine whether this is a persistent enough issue that needs to be reported to the maintenance supplier.
