Dear Amanda,
Do you know where they're from ? The lithology looks right for the original Ediacaran localities of Reginald Sprigg, and possibly you were sent these in the 1940s as we also were at Manchester. If so they are quite special.
It is not Cyclomedusa, but could well be something like Rugoconites or possibly Pseudorhizostomites. The bottom image is not very clear, but does look frond-like and is possibly Charnia or something similar.
Have a look at the chapter on Ediacara in our 2012 book, 'Evolution of Fossil Ecosystems' (Manson Press).
Regards,
John

Subject: Identification help
Hello,
I’m new to this group. I have joined because I’m curating a fossil collection that has been historically separated from its catalogue at the University of Reading and am hoping to put fossils on display in our refurbished Cole Museum of Zoology. I hope my request is not inappropriate and would appreciate being pointed to anyone who would be happy to help me digitally. Thanks
This fossil is identified as Edicaran cyclomedusae on a handwritten label. I think it may be something like Rugoconites enigmaticus
I’m hoping someone out there can help me. I also have an unlabelled fossil that could be a faint Charnia?
