Reporting to the PI Research Informatics (Dr Brian Marsden), the successful candidate will be responsible for devising and managing the delivery of novel data capture, curation and sharing solutions by the SGC Oxford Research Informatics team from target through protein production, structure determination and chemical biology to support our international programmes. This position is a full-time on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2022.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject work directly with senior scientists and directors across the SGC’s six sites around the world to identify and deliver solutions at scale whilst also engaging with our industrial partners and collaborators to ensure that the SGC is able to capture the broad range of data to enable open-access sharing of SGC outputs to the scientific community at large. You will be responsible for direct interactions with strategic partners including ChEMBL, OpenTargets, Genomics England as well as development of new technologies with our collaborators at MolSoft LLC. As such, an ability to think creatively and communicate clearly with both developers and scientists at all levels along with experience of managing a diverse team will be important.
