Hello again!
Just wanted to say a quick thank you for all the replies I received (all off list!) - it seems that (for the small number of people who actually have anything like this in their areas!) you've all gone with the term 'Munitions Factory' for this type of structure. On reflection, this does seem to be the best fit of the existing terms in the thesaurus, so I'll go with that! Keith Elliot with the Scottish Borders suggested 'Armament Manufacturing Site' (A building or site used for the manufacture, assembly and testing of weapons, explosives and associated military hardware), which would have been excellent, but sadly it's a top level term, and our system won't let you use those in their own right! Munitions Factory seems to be the closest fit for the activity going on here though, so I'll use that and just make sure the monument descriptions clearly state the process going on.
Thanks again for all of your help with this - it was very much appreciated indeed! All the best,
Richard Watts
