Dear all,
I wanted to follow up from Matt's email yesterday to say that I've added some more detail to the agenda for the Security Day: https://indico.cern.ch/event/721692/ . The timings are still a little in flux and we will most likely start earlier than 1030 - but no earlier than 0930 (let me know if that would be an issue!). I did also want to give a quick summary of the agenda and to strongly encourage people that are intending to go to register if they have not yet done so - I would very much like to see as many sites represented as we can.
In the morning we will have a summary of the EGI CSIRT components and the SVG, an update on where we are with the SSC, and a walk through the procedures and processes that are most relevant for sites. There is also a block planned to discuss Site Security Operations, where I would like to continue the discussions we started in a technical meeting on the security tools that sites are using, to share that experience (it's particularly for this session that I'd welcome any contributions from you - even a slide or so).
In the afternoon we will have 3 hours of training from Daniel Kouril, a long standing member of the EGI CSIRT who many of you will know. The current intention is for this training to allow the forensic investigation of the malware used in the recent SSC, with time for people to try the techniques live and gain experience (or have some additional practice).
My intention is that this particular Security Day will form the start of what I hope will be a new set of training events/materials which focus on the fundamental security procedures that sites should be familiar with - with this event being followed by the development of some additional training and documentation that the security team will work on over the summer.
If you're not able to have your site represented - particularly if you would like to go but are unable to because of other constraints - I'd like to ask that you get in touch with me so that we can make some other arrangements.
Best wishes,
David

Hi all,
As promised here's a reminder for the coming HEPSYSMAN + Security Day event at RAL, on the 23rd and 24th of May.
https://indico.cern.ch/event/721692/
The Security Day on the first day kicks off at 10.30. The second day will be a more traditional HEPSYSMAN but I think that there might be a focus on new and future "toys".
Please register soon, and let Pete or David know in advance if you have anything you'd like to present on either day.
Thanks all!
Matt
