Dear Colleagues,
Following on from our highly successful pilot Digital Learning Set project and ‘Let’s Get Digital’ event, The National Archives is pleased to announce the launch of the Digital Archives Learning Exchange (DALE), our new network focusing on digital learning and information exchange.
DALE will aim to be sector-led, with regular chances to feed in to the programme and explore relevant issues. As well as highlighting examples of best practice and projects from across the sector, DALE will also provide an introduction to a range of initiatives led by The National Archives.
The first DALE meeting will take place on Wednesday 5 June, 9:30am - 4:00pm, at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums in Newcastle.
The programme will include:
- an introduction to DALE and what we hope to achieve
- a first look at The National Archives' Digital Capacity Building strategy
- sessions on digital preservation, usability, cataloguing for the web, and digital engagement.
The event is free to attend, and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
