Excellent that you are doing this.
Have you included Lucia Rocca’s sterling efforts to develop a Midwifery Unit Network and related training and eLearn modules? Lucia has also spearheaded a summer school for obstetricians and midwives this summer - on optimal birth - which I believe covers all aspects of promoting physiology.
Our book Squaring the Circle includes examples of support and promotion of normal birth, being launched in June at NLB conference
Soo and I have been facilitating workshops for midwives and obstetricians in several counties including India and Australia - based on the messages in Roar Behind the Silence - these cover the elements of TLTL TMTS - we’ve had excellent feedback. We’re off to Ireland next.
I met with ICM leaders yesterday to begin discussions to develop a train the trainers package for midwives (or maternity workers) to promote respectful, compassionate maternity care. This involves lack of autonomy to choose - coercion etc, and hopefully will impact on unnecessary intervention rates. Soo is involved.
I agree, there is a lack of knowledge on the physiology of labour and birth...absolutely.
Hope this helps
Very best wishes

Maybe the first step is to bring it all together, including the reviews done by Ibone Olza and Kirstin Ulvas Moberg recently, and the work of Sarah Buckley, and of you Margaret, and so many more.
