Hello All-
My name is Angela Benfield and I am a professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in the occupational therapy program. I am contacting you in hopes that you would assist me in reaching out to allied health clinicians- specifically expert clinical therapists in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, clinical social work, or other professionals who use behavioral interventions with clients. My current study, Evidence-Informed Professional Thinking: Measure Improvement, is to increase our understanding of item performance- specifically in expert clinicians and to identify the frequency of specific clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice tasks that high performing clinicians engage during daily practice.
I am hoping that you would be willing to forward the bottom announcement for the online survey to your contacts who are in these professions. I do not need to know the emails, however, would like to know the number of people who were sent the email so that I have a better understanding of the percentage who decided to participate in the survey.
I am specifically trying to reach out to "experts" who might report higher rates of implementing EBP and clinical reasoning as my sample for the preliminary sample did not have enough people who were doing EBP activities to be able to identify items that fit the measure nor provided an understanding of how difficult the item is.
Thank you for your assistance. If you have any questions, please contact me at [log in to unmask] or 608.785.6620. This survey has been reviewed and approved by the IRB board at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and deemed exempt.
Sincerely,
Angela Benfield, Ph.D., OTR/L
