Revealing The Collections Project Officer
RIBA – British Architectural Library
£32,225 pa for a one year fixed term contract
The RIBA cares for one of the largest and most diverse architectural collections in the world. From 15th century books and drawings to photographs documenting architecture around the world today, the collections constitute a unique body of knowledge, underpinning exciting access, learning and exhibition programmes.
There are over four million items in the collections, including models, drawings, photographs, and archival documents. Our Library holds around 150,000 books and periodicals covering every aspect of architecture and architectural history, including the most significant new publications on architecture from around the world. The Revealing the Collections Project is an exciting initiative to make the collections better known about within and outside RIBA. From producing leaflets, guides and publications for information and to support fundraising and outreach, to venturing into parliamentary advocacy and the frontiers of social media and online content, this is the chance for someone with a background in museums, libraries or archives, and experience of bringing heritage collections to life, to help unlock our collections and their stories in a way that informs existing audiences and helps us reach new ones. We have great tales to tell and world-class collections to share – can you help us take this step forward?
