Lead Java Developer

In this role, you will be leading a team working on 1Spatial’s core product technology. You will mainly be developing in Java with a focus on backend but will also be exposed to front-end development. As team lead and Scrum Master you will be leading architectural design and ensuring effective development process.
You will be responsible for:
• Leading and mentoring development teams in architecture design and implementation
• Remaining abreast of current trends, recognising the potential of novel technologies and standards and driving their adoption
• Leading development process improvements and sharing learnings and good practice
• Working with Product Owners and other stakeholders to balance business and technical needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Proven strong Java development skills
• Proven ability to contribute to our architecture and designs
• Proven troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Experience and familiarity with
o Version control tooling (e.g. git)
o Build tooling (Maven or Gradle)
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience of manipulating complex data
• Experience and familiarity with
o Developing SOAP and REST APIs
o Continuous integration servers (Jenkins/Hudson or TeamCity)
o Databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server)
o Web front-end development (e.g. Angular)
o GIS or geometry manipulation
o Java EE application servers (JBoss/WildFly or Oracle WebLogic)
o Docker
o Configuration management tools (Puppet or Ansible)
o Windows and Linux
