Hi Emily, I'd be interested to know whether WebPA's internal student ID matches the Canvas student ID? It doesn't match the Moodle student ID.

The problem we have in exporting the marks from WebPA is the format is not compatible for import into Moodle Grades - the 'name' column in the exported CSV places the lastname, firstname, WebPA ID all in one cell. Manually matching student names to their Moodle IDs is heavy going.

WebPA has the student's email address in the database but I don't see how to change the export options to include that in the CSV.

Emily,

I suspect this is to do with the issue that - if a student doesn't connect to WebPA from Canvas, then they won't have an account generated to link back to.

For Canvas, I'd suggest the staff export the marks from WebPA themselves, and export the grades from the corresponding Canvas course, then use the WebPA data to populate the Canvas derived spreadsheet, then import that spreadsheet (studentid and WebPA derived marks), and that would become the mark for all the students in Canvas.

That is my intention too - as I typically moderate WebPA based marks based on other evidence, to derive the actual assignment mark.

Subject: Transferring grades into Canvas gradebook

Hi,

Is anyone else using WebPa with Canvas and transferring grades back into the gradebook?

Lecturers have been complaining that if a student doesn't complete the WebPA assessment (i.e. doesn't even click on the Canvas assignment and open WebPA), then they don't get a grade transferred back.

Is this the same for other people? Don't suppose anyone has found a workround?

Thanks

Emily
