Worldwide Cancer Research is a small charity with immense ambition - to see a day where no life is cut short by cancer. To bring that day closer the charity is changing, and growing.
Worldwide Cancer Research funds innovative cancer research all over the world, finding the best projects that sit right at the beginning of the research journey. The charity kick-starts the life-saving advances of the future by sowing the seeds of new discoveries today, funding brand new ideas and supporting researchers who ask big, challenging, new questions about how cancer works and how we can control it.
Worldwide Cancer Research takes a global approach to solving a local problem because cancer affects people in your city, your street, your family - but the answers could be found anywhere in the world…

As Research Funding Manager you will be responsible for the management of the multi-million pound response mode funding programme for basic and translational cancer research.

You will also bring knowledge of the cancer research field and, preferably, have experience of working in a research funding environment with an understanding of research funding processes and principles, including peer review and conflicts of interest.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to influence, persuade and operate across a busy portfolio of activity. Organisational skills will be key to the success of this role as will having a real passion for the charity’s vision, mission and strategy.
We are all affected by cancer, wherever we live in the world, and it will take a worldwide movement to beat it.
