Our client based in London has an exciting opportunity for an opensource GIS developer. The role focuses on working with Python and Javascript as well as the usual open source technology such as - QGIS, Open Layers, PostGIS, Geoserver, GDAL.
The salary is competitive and will be in the range of £45-£55k depending on experience.
Specification;
The bullet points I sent to be included in the open source job spec are as follows:
Qualifications:
•Preferably computer science degree
•Programming languages:
o Python.
o JavaScript.
Skills:
•Open source GIS.
•Knowledge of the standards of the OGC such as WMS, WFS, WMTS
•Knowledge of Python or comparable language
•Knowledge of JavaScript & Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, REST, XML, JSON advantageous
•Proficient with QGIS.
•Experience of using Python to automate QGIS and write plugins.
•Experience of using GDAL.
•Experience with using and loading data into PostGIS.
•Experience with GeoServer.
•Experience of using Leaflet or OpenLayers.
•Experience of Salesforce and knowledge of Ajax
