Hello Saad and other FSL experts
I would also like to average the bedpostX output of a list of controls to produce an average bedpostX directory to perform tractography.
I am exploring option 1 (Get average orientation across subjects and do deterministic tractography on the average). As I understand, the steps produce an average dyad file for each orientation (steps 1 and 2), transform these dyad files to spherical coordinates (step 3), and calculates an average fsamples (Step 4).
Would calculating the average fsamples require averaging the fsamples of each control, or am I somehow calculating the fsamples from the averages dyad files? Also, it was my understanding that probtrackx2 uses the 'merged' files. How would I obtain these merged files?
Alternatively, wouldn't I be able to:
for each subject, convert the merged_ph-and-th samples to cartesian coordinates, (produce 50, 4D dyad files per orientation), vecreg all the resulting dyad files and convert these back to spherical coordinates (produce 50, 3D ph and th files per orientation), and calculate the merged_fsamples in a similar manner (average all merged_fsamples across subjects).
I appreciate you looking into this.
Respectfully,
-
Miguel
