Introducing three new Essential Skills courses
We are putting on three half day courses in March to help researchers and students get to grips with: Python, R & Excel
The courses are designed to give you the basic skills you need to use the programs in your own research. Held in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Manchester.
They are run by excellent research staff as part of the Cathie Marsh Institute<https://www.cmist.manchester.ac.uk/>
Here is a quick run through of each course:

This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to the Jupyter Python programming environment and demonstrates the use of the Python language for performing basic data analysis.
Essential Skills R - 26 March<https://www.cmist.manchester.ac.uk/study/short/introductory/r-essentials-skills/>
This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to the R programming environment and demonstrates the use of the R language for performing basic data analysis.
Introduction to data analysis using Excel - 29 March<https://www.cmist.manchester.ac.uk/study/short/introductory/intro-to-data-analysis-using-excel/>
This introductory course will explore the data analysis functionality of Microsoft Excel 2010. Examples will be worked through to demonstrate what Excel can be used for and how to make the most of some of the data analysis functions
