Hi, yes this looks ok for hare metatarsal, definately not a bird bone.
I know ref. collections may be awkward to house but just one bird would
help a lot as they are all built mostly the same. As a starting point
download the Cohen and Serjeantson manual - you will find lots of other
useful downloads on the zoobook site too.
