Organised by the British Science Association and supported by Genomics England, this is our flagship Future Debate for 2019. Join us for a night of discussion and drinks with a distinguished panel, where we’ll delve into the contentious issue of genomics and privacy, answering the question: Would you share your DNA?
Confirmed panellists:
Chair: Samira Ahmed, a British freelance journalist, writer and broadcaster at the BBC, where she has presented Radio 3's Night Waves and Radio 4's PM, The World Tonight, Sunday and Front Row.
Dr Saleyha Ahsan, a practising A&E doctor, a former Captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps and a broadcaster. She regularly reports for The One Show on BBC One and has also presented the hit BBC Two health series, Trust Me I'm a Doctor.
Dr Christian Jessen, a British physician, television presenter and writer, best known for presenting Channel 4 programmes such as Embarrassing Bodies and Supersize vs Superskinny.
Phil Booth, coordinator of MedConfidential, which campaigns for confidentiality and consent in health and social care, seeking to ensure that every flow of data into, across and out of the NHS and care system is consensual, safe and transparent.
