Job vacancy - Modern Domestic Records Specialist
About the role:
Records specialists are expected to play a key part in the development and delivery of The National Archives' public engagement and academic programmes. Records specialists also work in our advisory service, delivering research advice on records within their specialist field onsite and online via a variety of channels; and sharing knowledge and expertise internally and externally.
Your specialism will focus on records relating to 20th century health policy, with a particular focus on records from after the creation of the National Health Service. Developing and improving research guidance, taking forward proposals for research funding using The National Archives' collections and contributing to an innovative and evolving public engagement programme.
About you:
You will have the ability to work both individually and part of a team and comfortably take the lead on projects. You will have a good knowledge of 20th century British health policy and The National Archives collections in this field, developing a deep understanding of these and sharing this knowledge through research guidance, academic and public engagement outputs. You will have an active research profile, demonstrable academic credibility and an experience of writing applications for research funding. You will have an understanding of digital humanities research methods and use these to exploit collections in your specialist field in innovative ways.
