God I _AM_ glad not to have responsibility for all this vital drivel. I bet
UKSA is now paying far more for lawyers than it is for statisticians.
There are undoubtedly political decisions incorporated here. “The Minister”
(who she/he?) has decided to do several things, among which (please correct
me if I am wrong):
. Under NoDeal, the UK will cease to provide statistical inputs to Eurostat
and other bodies, thereby no doubt upsetting the validity which has been so
carefully honed over many years.
Do we really want to be so mean and mangy? Is this what the Voice of the
People voted for? Where is the Government Statisticians’ Collective now who
will pick this up and protest?
JOHN BIBBY
PS. Can Radstats get the legal brain of Michael Dougan of Liverpool
University to apply himself to this, as he did so brilliantly at our 2017
conference? Does our conference in Liverpool on Feb 23rd provide an
opportunity?
