Postdoctoral position is available in Molecular and Cluster Dynamics group at J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry in Prague. JHI is renowned scientific institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences providing state-of-the-art research infrastructure.
The position is for the project “Electron Attachment in Radiation Chemistry”. The goal of the project is to elucidate the importance of elementary electron induced reactions in radiochemistry and concurrent chemo-radiation therapy of cancer. The successful candidate will study electron interactions with isolated (see e.g. Zawadzki PRL 121, 143402, 2018) as well as micro-hydrated (see e.g. Kočišek JPCL, 7, 3401, 2016) molecules by the means of existing experimental setups combining molecular beams, electron attachment spectroscopy and mass spectrometry techniques.
The applicants should have PhD. in molecular physics or related discipline. Experience with one of the aforementioned techniques would be advantageous. The experiments will be conducted in an international environment and the results are expected to be presented on the conferences worldwide; therefore, good communication skills in English are necessary.
