New GENIE Generator and Reweight product releases
The GENIE collaboration is happy to announce a new release of both Generator and Reweight products.
This first release of the Reweight product (v1.0.0) restores compatibility with the new series (v3*) of Generator releases.
This Reweight version supports all comprehensive model configurations and tunes currently available in the Generator.
The corresponding Reweight tag is R-1_00_00.
A Generator revision (3.0.2) was also necessary to support changes in Reweight.
It includes very minimal changes in the physics models in v3.0.0.
Both products can be obtained from our GitHub repositories - www.github.com/GENIE-MC. Specifically,
you can get a zip or tar.gz file at these locations:
https://github.com/GENIE-MC/Generator/releases/tag/R-3_00_02 and
https://github.com/GENIE-MC/Reweight/releases/tag/R-1_00_00
For Fermilab users, these products will shortly become available as a UPS product.
Please note:
The historical default comprehensive model and tune used in the v2 Generator series, is still included in the v3 series.
In the new tune naming scheme, it is now called G00_00a_00_000.
This is included for comparisons, as it provides a connection with a large body of past studies, but it is now unsupported.
The Reweight package is also no longer compatible with G00_00a_00_000.
Please also note that pre-computed cross-section splines in Generator v2 and v3 are no longer compatible due to file
structure changes. Please use cross-section splines posted at http://genie-mc.org.
We would like to thank you for continuing support and use of GENIE products -
We will maintain existing software and continue to introduce new models.
Work is now underway to produce new nuclear and hadronization tunes, to deploy and characterise new comprehensive
model configurations, and to fully support the GENIE global analysis in the Reweight product providing handles for many
non-trivial and non-reweightable systematics. We are hoping to communicate new GENIE progress in the very near future.
