Hello there!
I'm trying to display the arcuate fasciculus using a two mask apporach.
From what I understand, with two masks as seed space, the algorithm starts from both ROIs and then only retains the pathways that pass through the respective other ROI.
But when I run PROBTRACKX with one mask in the temporal lobe and one in the frontal lobe, the crearted connectivity map will sometimes display fibers that travel from the horizontal part of the arcuate fasciculus to the cortex.
How is this possible? They're clearly not connected to both ROIs. Could it be that they sort-of "swerve" to the cortex and then come back around to travel to the other ROI? But should't Loopcheck and the Curvature threshold prevent something like this?
I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question but I feel like I'm fundamentally not getting something about how this works.
