The ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability and Transparency (ACM FAT*) focusses on the social issues and impacts around computing systems. Held in Atlanta Jan 29-31 2019, it attracts academic and industrial researchers, practitioners, activists and policy-makers from across fields and disciplines.
1. Doctoral Consortium (deadline midnight Anywhere on Earth Time, December 7 2018)
The second annual ACM FAT* Conference 2019 invites PhD students to apply for the first FAT* Doctoral Consortium. The ACM FAT* 2019 Doctoral Consortium will provide PhD students with a unique opportunity to have substantive interaction with experienced researchers regarding their proposed dissertation research and career objectives. The Doctoral Consortium will be held on Jan 29, 2019, 9-12am. The format will include presentations by all participating PhD students, with plenary discussions, individual meetings with experienced researchers, discussions over breaks, peer-feedback, and panel discussions.
Submissions (1 page thesis summary, 2 page CV, 1 page personal statement) are due midnight 7 December 2018.
