The 30th Interntional Conference on Arabidopsis Research (ICAR2019) is taking place in Wuhan, China on June 16th-21st, 2019.

GARNet is administering sponsorship that will provide 4x £500 travel studentships to support the attendance of UK-based PhD students to this exciting international meeting.

If you are interested in applying for these awards please contact the GARNet coordinator Geraint Parry and he will provide you worth an application form.

The closing date for submitting the form is January 28th. We will inform successful applicants within 2 days so that they can register for the meeting at the cheapest rate (which ends February 1st). This will allow students to apply who absolutely require the £500 award to attend the meeting.

To be eligible, the student must still be studying on a UK-based PhD Program at the time of the conference and must present a poster or talk at the meeting.

IMPORTANT: At the time of application, students must also supply a letter from their supervisor confirming that they have other financial support to attend the conference.

We are not able to fund travel costs directly. Successful candidates will be provided with the grant once evidence of registration to the meeting and poster abstract submission are provided.
