Archivist, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (BLSMD) is looking for a qualified archivist to manage, promote, and make accessible the archives and heritage assets of the School of Medicine & Dentistry and its legacy Medical Colleges. The Archivist will work within Barts Health NHS Trust Archives and Museums service, both aspects of which are Accredited services, and support the wider work of the service.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced archivist, who can work across multiple sites answering queries from a range of people from academic and clinical staff to members of the public. You must have a strategic approach to collections management and widening access to archives and museums.
There is an opportunity to form and strengthen partnerships within the School of Medicine and Dentistry and across the other QMUL faculties as well as the Students' Association and the Alumni Office. In addition, the Archivist leads the History of Medicine SSC courses for medical undergraduates, and develops and delivers engagement activities both within and beyond the medical school to ensuring that the school’s history and heritage is preserved and accessible to a wide range of people.
The post is full time and permanent. Salary will be in the range £37,411 - £44,015 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
