The Research Unit Applied Statistics (ASTAT) of the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, TU Wien, invites applications for a postdoctoral assistant in Statistics or Machine Learning.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in Statistics and to lead a high quality research program and actively contribute to the research at the institute. S/he will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the ASTAT department giving support to courses in the Bachelor and Master’s program of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics. The contract is for a period of 6 years. The starting date is January 2019 or by mutual agreement.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a PhD and have an excellent research profile in Statistics, or a related field.
Other skills: Knowledge of German is desirable but not necessary.
Salary Range: The monthly minimum salary is currently (in the collective agreement §49 (3) Pay Grade B1, Level 3) EUR 3.711,10 gross (14x per year). Prior experience may result in higher salary.
