Hello all,
I'd thought I should share with you a conversation I had with Duncan and
the sagely Tim Chown, concerning DNS services that Janet can provide -
that might be a possible solution to some site's v6 blockers.
Quoting Tim himself:
"Our secondary DNS service is open to anyone Janet connected running off
.ac.uk to use, and you then get v6 DNS for free (literally). All we
need is an email request, and the site to allow the zone transfers.

Feel free to send to contacts who may benefit from this. It's good
practice for more general resilience also."
So sites can rely on Janet for their v6 DNS if they're set up in the
right way (and if not then allowing zone transfers might be easier then
setting up v6 DNS from scratch).
I'm afraid I can't provide any more details as I'm just the easily
shootable messenger, but I'm sure that jisc can provide more information
to anyone interested.
Cheers all!
Matt
