Dear Hweeling,
Do you really need to change the data type from float64 to int16? What
does SPM's DICOM Convert use?
To change the data type of a 4D file, you can use the module:
SPM > Util > 3D to 4D File Conversion
where when selecting the "3D volumes", enter NaN (instead of 1) in the
Frames entry and select the 4D file (e.g. 4D.nii without trailing ",1").
