For those we do not know yet, and in case this is useful to this group:
We, French midwives, together with the CIANE (an association of maternity
care users) and the French National College of Gynecologists and
Obstetricians have worked in 2017 on a definition of normal childbirth, and
evidence -based recommendations to support women during physiological labour
and birth. Our work has been endorsed by the French High Authority for
Health in Dec. 2017.
Three documents are available online: a summary of the recommendations, the
recommendations and the evidence supporting these recommendations:

Icelandic midwives would be interested to participate. In Iceland, as in
many other countries we are struggling with the use of concepts regarding
birth. As we believe that the use of concepts/terms shapes the discourse
about birth in the social context it is an urgent discussion that needs to
take place within the academia and on a policy and practice level. It is
difficult to define the main strenghts of midwifery if we are not able to
define what is a normal pregnancy and birth.
All the best

I have contacts in Quebec where midwives certainly practice and promote
normal birth but are only a small percent of maternity providers. I will be
happy to liaise with my friend who is professor there as i'm sure she will
be interested in promoting this initiative in Francophone Canada.
Best wishes,
Fiona
