Hello,
I've wanted to do this on ours, but I was concerned that people might not take much info in - they go to the machine to perform a task and their mind is on that rather than looking out for adverts etc which some users might feel are getting in the way (which reminds me - would there be accessibility issues if the screen becomes cluttered?).
The other issue is setting it up. We don't have Command Centre installed yet (how I love that name...!), so if I wanted to put adverts on our machines (we have a few) I assume that I would have to go into each machine via IP address and that would take forever as that route is really slow.
Sorry, I don't sound very enthusiastic about it, but these are the concerns I have and are why I haven't pursued it myself. But it'd be interesting to hear what people say who have managed to do this.
Helen.

Subject: Promotional Function of Self-service machines
Hi,
Is anyone using their 3M/Bibliotheca self-service kiosks to promote library services/activities?
If so what challenges (if any) have you encountered in setting it up?
What kinds of information have you been promoting?
Have you had any student/staff feedback about how effective this method of promotion is?
Any thoughts or experiences, gratefully received.
Many Thanks
Tom
