We would like to bring to your attention to a fully funded, Ph.D. position in in Geodesy/Engineering Geology available at Loughborough University and in collaboration with the Earth Observation team of the British Geological Survey.
The PhD is funded by the Central England NERC Training Alliance (CENTA), a consortium of research intensive Universities and research institutes that are working together to provide excellence in doctoral research training.
The doctoral position is aimed at:
- assessing the long-term landscape evolution of the Bailong River Basin near Zhouqu, China.
- Develop a physical process model of geohazards (landslides, debris flows, floods) and evaluate the influence of neotectonics, climate and human interventions in the landscape
- Enhance opportunities for sustainable development and effective geohazard risk management.
We are looking for a bright, highly motivated student with excellent GIS and coding skills, a good background in geohazards and remote sensing.
