Dear all,
Apologies to colleagues working in higher education who have already seen this request via other channels.
Coventry University Library is assessing its current social media strategy and would be interested to hear from other organisations in the higher education sector about their strategies, policies etc. on this subject.
We are particularly interested in libraries or archives that have a strategy that is more nuanced than their own organisations general guidelines, and is written for their particular needs.
Areas we are looking at include:
Content and Audience
1. What content should we include (or exclude) on our social media
2. What should the tone of our messages be?
1. Who will we be targeting?
2. Will we target different people on different platforms?
3. How do we respond to the audience?
Logistics
1. Which social media platforms should we have an account on
2. Who will run the social media accounts? (e.g. one person from each team, one team, a few people)
3. When will accounts be monitored? What about evenings and weekends?
4. How will we arrange who is running the social media?
5. How will information from other teams get on social media? (i.e. how does someone without access to the account get something put up)
6. Who are our partners in this?
7. Who will have the account details? Do we need a schedule to change passwords?
8. Who can make changes to the social media accounts?
Regards,
Gary
