A postDoc position will be available to work with Dr. Roberto Improta at the Italian National Research Council (CNR), Istituto
di Biostruttura e Bioimmagini, Naples, Italy. The project will deal with the theoretical study of the photophysics and photochemistry of nucleic acids, and, in particular, with the development of model Hamiltonians for the study of charger transfer processes in polynucleotides. The research activities will be performed in the framework of the EU-H2020 Marie-Curie Network LightDyNAmics (www.lightdynamics.eu), which is coordinated by Roberto Improta, in collaboration with leading experimental and theoretical groups in the field, and, in particular, with Dr. F. Santoro at ICCOM-CNR.
Applicants should have (or be about to receive) a PhD in theoretical chemistry or physics, or in a related area. We are seeking candidates with significant expertise in the study of electronic excited states and possibly, quantum or semiclassical dynamical methods for nonadiabatic processes. Since the candidate is expected to collaborate to the scientific management of the LightDynamics network, previous experience in the coordination of scientific networks is appreciated.
The position is for one year and it can be extended up to 3 years, and will approximately start in January 2019. The salary will be of ca. 1700-1800 euro per month, after taxes.
