Subject: Disabled Students Allowances: call for evidence
Dear all,
The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Assistive Technology is holding a meeting next month on Disabled Students Allowances and the impact of the £200 equipment charge.
I am gathering evidence to inform a briefing to parliamentarians ahead of the meeting. I would be particularly interested to hear of cases where:
- HEIs have paid the £200 equipment charge themselves, and/or
- Students have reported that they are unable to afford the charge.
I am also gathering evidence of the positive impact of assistive technology provided via DSAs.
If you have any evidence to share regarding DSA policy please do get in touch: [log in to unmask]
(In addition, though spaces at the meeting are extremely limited - it’s a small room and priority is given to parliamentary attendees - do let me know if you would be interested in joining the meeting).
Kind regards,
Robert McLaren
