Dear all,
***APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING***
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to kindly draw your attention to the forthcoming fourth Conference of the CINETS Network entitled 'Mobility and Security in an Era of Globalization: Crimmigration at a Crossroads?' that will take place at Queen Mary, University of London (Lincoln Inns Field Campus, Lecture Theatre) on 5-6 October 2018.
The Conference brings together both established scholars and early-career researchers whose work fits within the concept of ‘crimmigration’ or subjects parallel to this.
Scholars coming from various disciplines (in particular, law, criminology, sociology, human geography, anthropology, ethnography) have been selected to present their research on various themes; human trafficking and smuggling - including the criminalisation of solidarity to refugees-, detention practices, making sense of the normalisation of 'crimmigration', securitisation of mobility from the perspective of the EU and the US and recent trends in creating a 'hostile environment' against migrants and refugees.
The provisional programme (subject to minor changes) is available here: http://www.law.qmul.ac.uk/media/law/docs/events/CINETS-Conference---Draft-Programme.pdf
Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required. In order to register, please visit the following link:
