Two vacancies at HSBC London Archives: 1 x permanent; 1 x 12 month fixed term
There are two exciting opportunities to join HSBC's team of archivists spanning London, Hong Kong, Paris and New York. The successful candidates will be involved in all aspects of the unit's activities.
Key areas of responsibility will include appraisal, cataloguing and conservation of the bank's archives, alongside research and enquiry work, and assisting the supervision of researchers at the Archives Centre in Canning Town, E16. Strong curatorial and presentation skills are required for extensive outreach (e.g. exhibition displays and guided tours).
Requirements:
The jobholders must have a first degree and a post-graduate qualification in Archives Management (or a related discipline such as Records Management/Library Studies - with specialism in Archives).
The jobholders will have previous experience working in Archives - preferably with some time spent in a corporate environment. Recently qualified Archives graduates are welcome to apply.
Successful candidates will have enthusiasm and initiative; with a good understanding of how archives can be used to support the objectives of a multinational business. Excellent communication, customer service and time management skills are essential. Familiarity with CALM and Preservica software - and previous experience working with digital records - will be an advantage.
