Hello,
You may be interested in coming to the premier of a film that I've made on Monday evening. I can arrange free tickets for students/groups of students if that's of interest.
'The UK in 100 Seconds' is a provocative and thought provoking film that rearranges the United Kingdom's land into 32 categories and divides them over 100 seconds. Each second equates to 1% of what the country looks like from the air. I made the film by going on a microexpedition and picking up fragments of the different kinds of land from different parts of the UK. It's based on Corine data.
The preview for the film is at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square on Monday. You can book tickets and see a teaser of the film here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-uk-in-100-seconds-what-if-we-made-more-space-for-nature-tickets-49208886103.
After the screening we have some short talks and discussions with:
Prof Alasdair Rae, a geographer and expert on land use at Sheffield University
Debbie Tann, Chief Executive of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust
Andrew Simms, author of the books 'Cancel the Apocalypse' and 'Ecological Debt'
Beth Collier, a nature-based psychotherapist
Craig Bennett, CEO Friends of the Earth
Vicki Hird, Food & farming campaigner, Sustain
See you there?
Very best,
Dan
