RELION 3 will give a clearer error message.
"You are using --use_noDW, but there is no rlnMicrographNameNoDW label in
the input micrograph STAR file"

supported by the version of unblur that is compatible with relion
2.1 and which does seem to happen). I have also been setting "Use
micrograph without dose-weighting" to yes (as suggested in the
tutorial). However, unblur does not create non-dose-weighted files
(which motioncor2 _would_ create). Invoking the CTF estimation
step as I have doesn't throw an error indicating that it can't find
any non-dose weighted files, rather it simply fails to find the
files it wants, populates it's list of file for CTF estimation with
" "'s and exits after trying to do things with files called " ".

Even better, relion could (does) know that unblur was used and that
the CTF estimation can't be done using non-dose-weighted files.
