The Centre for Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Modelling and Evaluation at UCL is seeking to appoint two Research Assistants with an interest in epidemiology modelling. The post will be situated at the UCL, Royal Free Campus and the Institute of Child Health, Institute for Global Health, UCL.
The post holder will join a team based across UCL, Imperial College London and the College of Medicine, Malawi, who are working to develop an individual-based simulation model of health care and health provision in Malawi. This involves consideration of all major health conditions and the effect of interventions. The model development theme is jointly led by Professor Timothy Hallett from Imperial College London and Professor Andrew Phillips at University College London. The post-holder will take responsibility of mainly maternal, newborn and child health diseases and interventions within the overall individual-based simulation model.
The postholder may be required to travel domestically and internationally (less than 30 days per year).
Key Requirements
The post-holder will have an MSc or equivalent in a relevant subject area with an interest in working as part of a team on an ambitious joint model with high potential for long term utility. Good presentation skills with excellent team working and communication skills are also essential.
