Hi Fiona
At Queen's University Belfast, Honorary membership of the Library is available to members of QUB staff who are over 55 years of age and have retired from QUB after at least 10 years continuous service.
Honorary membership must be applied for within 2 years of retirement and will be given for 5 years in the first instance. Application for renewal can be made at the end of that time.
Honorary membership is also available to honorary graduates and current members of Senate.
There is no charge for this membership which allows them access to the Library. They can borrow up to 30 books for 12 weeks (same conditions as for current staff), though their access to e-resources is limited to IP authenticated resources on campus only.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes
Sally

Subject: Retired and ex staff membership
Hello,
I am looking at our library provision for retired and ex members of staff. Do you allow them to be a member of your Library? Do they pay a fee? What level of access do they have?
Many thanks for your help
Fiona
