Hi Constantinescu,
You might also want to look into the H2020 funded EDISON project's work to define data science professional profiles.

Subject: Re: Data librarian, a shifting profile?
Dear Robin,
From everything I gathered, this new assignment of specialized librarians, let that be caring "data" prefix is linked to the late 60', begining of the 70's when the "data centres" started to serve the social sciences. Indeed, we are able to track back the need for a specialization within the ranks of those data keepers able to put a humanized face on the growing numbers. Tradition of organizing information hoardings is librarianship, hence a deep need to upgrade (through data literacy) of curious ones.
CESSDA is one of the pillars, and part of the European fabric (ERiC).
I will look into IFDO. Thanks for that.
IASSIST gave me the best job database that compliments my own gathered data along past 6 years or so. So it offers me the traits, the chromosomes of what would be more and more this new specialization. I will ask Mr David and Tuomas.
And, yes RDA are the ones to put a definition on this cross polination... although a bit dry.
UK is the best, I believe in terms of studies and shaping a "steward"
into a "librarian".
If anything pops on your radar, just drop a line on that, please.
Kind regards,
P.S. The Handbook is such a good thread in this labyrinth. Thank you for taking that important effort. I will read it in full as soon as possible.
