You can download the PDFs and supplementary files of these papers from StatsLife<https://www.statslife.org.uk/events/events-calendar/eventdetail/1205/-/extended-discussion-meeting-three-papers-on-data-visualization> and our website<http://www.rss.org.uk/RSS/Publications/Journals/Discussion_Papers/RSS/Publications/Journals_sub/discussion_papers.aspx?hkey=edfa4f9b-d001-49aa-bab9-e903b204e5d7#models>.
There is no charge for anyone planning to attend only the Discussion Meeting but you must let the conference team<mailto:[log in to unmask]> know. Anyone attending the conference as well as the meeting must register for the conference in the normal way by visiting our website<https://events.rss.org.uk/rss/frontend/reg/tRegisterEmailNew.csp?pageID=58957&eventID=194&tempPersonID=52687>.
Contributing to the discussion
We welcome contributions to the discussion following the presentation of the papers. Contact me on [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> to reserve a speaking slot of 5 minutes and ensure your name is on the list to be called at the appropriate time. If you cannot attend, we would be happy to receive a written contribution from you of no more than 400 words in length (not including any tables, reference details and figures). Please provide the following information at the beginning of your contribution:
* the author(s) and title of the paper under discussion.
* your name (including your title) and your affiliation, as you would wish it to appear on your printed contribution, e.g. Dr X, University of Y, City Z.
* an e-mail or full postal address where we can send the proofs of your contribution for checking (about 3 months after the meeting).
You do not have to submit your written contribution before the meeting but if you do and there is time it may be read out for discussion.
After the meeting, contributions may be submitted for publication by sending a PDF file direct to me at the Society's address before Wednesday, September 19th, 2018. This deadline is important to help the authors of the paper, who will consider all the contributions and compose a reply in limited time, and also for the production of the journal. A condition of publication of your contribution is that you assign copyright to the Society on the form that will be provided when we send you proofs to check.
